Social Media & Content Coordinator (Part-Time, Contract, Remote)

We are seeking an experienced communicator who is results-driven, loves coming up with engaging content, is interested in learning more about amazing Black women, and strongly believes that there is real power and value when Black women create space to support each other.

The focus of this role is growing our online community, creating original content, nurturing our relationships with our newsletter subscribers, and producing innovative content that resonates with our community on social media. The position is fully remote, but being based in NYC is a plus—we’d love someone who can capture photo and video content during our Gatherings.

Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy:

  • Sourcing and creating content to share across The Well’s Instagram account

  • Engaging & interacting with our community in an authentic way (responding to comments, DMs) so they feel loved!

  • Producing social media content for The Well Gatherings

  • Generating monthly social media metrics reports, incorporating learnings to improve community reach and engagement.

Editorial Strategy:

  • Sourcing and creating content for our weekly newsletter, Thrive

  • Generating monthly newsletter metrics reports, incorporating learnings to improve community reach and engagement


 

What Will Make Someone Successful In This Role?

  • Minimum 5 years of total work experience

  • Minimum 2 years of extensive social media management experience

  • Entrepreneurial, scale-driven (we’re building a global community) & results-oriented mindset

  • Strong copywriting and/or editorial (freelance) experience

  • An understanding of how to collect data and use it to create and implement a robust social media strategy

  • An understanding of the social media landscape and interest in learning and growing skills in engagement and audience development

  • Knowledge of popular cultural trends relevant to Black women at work

  • Ability to execute at a high level and on very strict timelines—we have lots to do!

  • Ability to work remotely in a professional manner

  • Ability to write outstanding copy and emails in The Well’s voice while conveying our company values (reciprocity, generosity, supportiveness, inclusion)

  • Genuine belief in the power of social media to connect individuals and build community worldwide
