Community Manager (Part-Time, Contract, Remote)

We are seeking an experienced all-star community-builder who is results-driven, thrives when facilitating mutually beneficial connections, is an entrepreneur at heart, and strongly believes that there is real power and value when Black women create space to support each other.

This is a high-impact, very visible role in which you will be the face of our online community as you help our Members thrive in their careers. This position has room for growth, and will eventually expand to include management of a Member Services Team and a network of on-the-ground TRIBE Leaders based in different cities around the world.

Responsibilities

Community Engagement:

  • Facilitate high-impact connections among Members through a mix of online and offline interactions & Gatherings

  • Assist CEO in facilitating warm introductions between Members; must be willing to become deeply familiar with Members’ personal and professional aspirations

  • Be the ongoing, consistent presence in our online forums—post engaging discussion topics, create fun & thought-provoking polls, and share helpful resources

  • Manage The Well’s profile in our online forums: post important updates and other relevant news from The Well’s profile

  • Moderate discussions on our online forums to ensure compliance with our Member Guidelines

  • Ensure that opportunities, asks, offers, etc. shared in our online forums are relevant and of the highest quality

  • Be the driver behind monthly New Member on-boarding and welcoming—create New Member on-boarding plan

  • Draft weekly Member update emails to encourage interactions within the community—include links to interesting posts in the online forum, reminders for online & offline Gatherings, reminders to reach out to monthly Connections, etc.

Community Growth:

  • Create & execute strategies to thoughtfully grow the community

  • Build relationships with potential new members online & offline

  • Establish creative & dynamic relationships with corporate affinity groups/Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

  • Work with the CEO to identify and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Member growth

  • A very strong professional network within startup or corporate world, specifically connected to amazing Black women

  • Working experience in customer service or other service-based industries

  • Strong familiarity with online community tools (i.e. Facebook Groups, Slack)

  • Proven track record in conversion copywriting and email marketing
